Top Ten Moms in Film.

We all have been inspired by moments in the movies, from cringy tooth grinders

to the cry with joy drama-fest. Since our mothers are in the spotlight this month, here are our top 10 Mothers in movies or TV.

10. Sarah Connor -“The Terminator”

We last saw her saving her son, from a liquid metal robot, from the future. With the return of Linda Carroll Hamilton as Sarah Connor, in the new Terminator movie (Terminator Dark Fate), we cant wait to see our favourite Bad Ass Mom with the original makers of Terminator 2 Judgement Day (James Cameron).

9. Radha- “Mother India”

The name of the movie says it all. A modern day icon, played by the legendary Nargis, tells a story of a mother against all odds. Set in a dark time of indian politics with difficult social structures, this is a struggle of a women to protect her family.

8. Eleanor Young- “Crazy Rich Asians”

A boss lady mother, from the upper crust of our society. With attitude that can kill, she is the classic example of an overprotective mother. Traditions are very important to the Chinese society, yet we see a mother breaking those same traditions.

7. Marge Simpson-“The Simpsons”

You can't deny Marge is one of the best mothers on an animated tv show. We all love her innocence and the family spirit. A loving wife, to the most undeserving husband ever and a caring mother, who stands by her kids through it all.

6. Eva Khatchadourian- “We Need to Talk About Kevin”

A mother of the student who was involved with the high school shooting in (Columbine) America. Based on a true event, we are given a different approach to the case. Where, even after noticing a few weird behaviour, she could not predict the crimes he commited.

5. Juno “Juno”

A true example of motherly love, how Juno refused to kill her unborn child, regardless the difficulties. A surprisingly powerful movie, with all its cute and quirky traits. This is definitely a very motivating movie for all women going through a similar situation.

4. Claire Dunphy- “Modern Family”

No doubt the funniest of them all (at least that's my opinion). She is the power mom, a boss at work and ‘The Hen, of the Pecked Husband’. Sure, she has her shortcomings, with her insecurities and mild alcoholism, but for her family always comes first.

3. Daenerys Targaryen “Game of Thrones”

“Where are my Dragons?”

These four words have been memed, quoted and glorified. The mother of dragons, Danny is an obvious favorite for the millions of GOT fans. The unburnt, has going through a lot of suffering and deserves all the love coming her way.

(P.S. We cant tell you where the dragons are because...SPOILER! ;) )

2. Nandini Raichand -“Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham”

The mother who can sense her (adopted) son, before he enters the vicinity. Coz you know, a mother loves all her children equally. She is the epitome of what all Indian mother, aspires to be. With a deep respect for customs and faith, she is the embodiment of all mothers in all Indian movies ever.

1. The Bride-“Kill Bill”

When she found out about her pregnancy and made a deal with the assassin sent to kill her, Beatrix Kiddo (Aka The Bride) was clearly the winner of our list. She rampaged through the best assassin squad in the world and a crazy lover (who is the founder/leader of said squad), to unite with her daughter who she never met. An epic movie, with the central character called “the Bride”. Though judging by the ending, if there are any sequels to the movie (fingers crossed) she should be call “the Mother”.
